    The Webster University Jazz Collective Presents a Concert Featuring the Music of Eddie Harris, Thad Jones and Alan Broadbent

    What/Who:

    The Webster University Jazz Collective, under the direction of James A. Martin, will perform a concert featuring the music of Eddie Harris, Thad Jones, Alan Broadbent and others. The instrumentation for the 14 piece ensemble is non-traditional: violin, flute, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, two trumpets, tenor and bass trombones, piano, bass, drums, guitar and voice.

    Featured on the concert will be compositions collectively arranged by the ensemble as well as music from Woody Herman and the Thundering Herd’s Grammy award winning 1973 disc Giant Steps: "Be-bop and Roses," "A Child is Born" and "Freedom Jazz Dance."

    When:

    Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, 7 p.m.

    Where:

    Moore Auditorium, 470 E. Lockwood Ave., Webster University

    Cost:

    $3 general public, Free to students with valid I.D.
